Fluffing Off

I wish I could say that I have been busy working in my shop preparing bits and pieces of the boat, but I  haven't picked up a boat tool since early December.  I won't make any excuses even though I feel a tad bit guilty; I do have several projects that could be done in my basement shop (rudder, dorades, cleaning hardware, etc...), but I just needed a break.
The break started out with general holiday madness that requires family time, shopping, parties, and the like but over the past three weeks we have gotten a snow dumping that I haven't seen in many years and I'm loving it.  I have been hitting all the local areas for downhill as frequently as possible and I've been doing a boatload of backcountry skiing with my light telemark gear.  I have been htiting up all the local trails systems with hills and small mountains and earning my turns by skinning up and then free-heel skiing back down through the forest.  It is absolutely fantastic and the quiet and solitude reminds me of why I ended up in Central New Hampshire in the first place.

I'll be back at the boat work soon enough, but until then you can find me deep in the woods on my skis with a big smile on my face and snow in my beard.
